Hello Parents,

As we complete our third week of school, I'm happy to report that we've had another successful week!  I continue to marvel at the behavior and dedication of our students and the commitment our teachers are making to ensure quality lessons each day.  And I thank you for your support as your child completes homework assignments and projects.

I'm looking forward to see all of you at Curriculum Night this Tuesday, September 14 at 7:00 p.m. as you will meet your child's teachers to learn more about the curriculum and what is expected of your child this year.  You will also have an opportunity to learn about the new parent portal, Home Access Center,  which will allow you to see your child's homework assignments, test and quiz dates and project due dates.  In order to gain access to the parent portal, you will be given a username and password.  You will be allowed to pick up your login from 6:30 p.m. to 6:55 p.m.  The general meeting begins promptly at 7:00 p.m.  Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate you after curriculum night.  It will be late and our staff will need to get home and prepare for the day.  It will have been an extremely long day.....thank you in advance for your cooperation.  Be sure to bring a picture id in order to get the login information.  Beginning September 15 all logins must be picked up in the front office.

I want to extend a special invitation to all of the dads of Elkins Pointe.  You are invited to attend a Dad's Club informational meeting on September 16th @ 7:30 a.m. in the media center.  There you will learn my vision for the Dad's Club and hear first hand of a successful Dad's Club in the Roswell High School cluster.  You won't be disappointed!  So with that in mind, I'm expecting standing room only  on the 16th and I'm anxious to get your responses as well.

Our first LSAC (Local School Advisory Council) was held this past Tuesday.  Some very important information was given out and I will share some of it Tuesday night before you see your child's teachers.  We have two official parent seats available.  If you are interested, please email me at huffj@fultonschools.org.  I will put the names on a ballot and it will be available for you to vote Tuesday night.

Be sure to pay attention to all of the announcements in this edition of Huff's Highlights and plan accordingly!  Thanks once again for your support of all of our efforts this year.

Glad to be a Titan!!!!!

Sincerely,

huff
