Visiting the Media Center

The Media Center is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

  • Students may visit the media center from the classroom by using a signed agenda as their pass.
  • Students must have their agenda with them in order to check out materials.
  • Teachers may plan with the media specialist for a class to visit the media center for booktalks, research, or other collaborative lessons.
  • Students are expected to bring necessary materials with them to the media center (paper, pen/pencil, etc). There is a machine from which students may purchase a pencil if needed.
  • Students must sign in as they enter the media center and sign out when they leave.
  • Media Center computers are for online catalog and school assignment research ONLY. Parent permission (in student agenda) is require for internet use. Internet “surfing” or computer games are NEVER allowed in the media center.
  • B&W printing is 10¢ per page, color is 25¢ per page.
  • A copier is available for student use for a fee of 10¢ per page.
  • Printing & copying may be charged to student library accounts if necessary and will be treated as overdue fines.

Check-out Policies

  • Most print & audio books may be checked out for 21 days
  • Magazine back issues, reference books, & reserved books are overnight checkout ONLY and due before homeroom the next morning.
  • Overdue fines are 5¢ per days for most books & magazines, 10¢ per day for books on tape and 25¢ per day for reference or reserved books on overnight checkout.
  • YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR NOTING THE DUE DATE & RETURNING MATERIALS ON TIME!!!
  • Students may check out up to 5 books at a time, including 1 (one) book on tape.
  • Students may not check out any materials if they have one overdue book.
  • Students may not check out any additional materials if that student owes $5 or more in fines.
